The treatment process is a procedure that can vary from patient to patient. The methods used are specific to each patient. The patient’s whole process should be closely monitored by the doctor.
The hot chemotherapy is a method which provides a complete treatment opportunity compared to other methods in cancers starting from within the abdomen. In addition, it has a preventive effect of preventing cancer from metastasizing. It is the best method promising an exact treatment.

A HIPEC is a rather heavy operation which requires a lot of physical and psychological energy from the patient. A lot of patients feel very tired during about three months.

If hot chemotherapy is applied by someone who is not well trained or has not completed the training, the disturbances in blood levels, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, intestinal perforation, damage to organs, and systemic infections even lead to the loss of the patient. These can be referred to as side effects and risks.

A device is used in the hot chemotherapy. The surgeon trained in this area determines the temperature, duration, and drug combination of the device provided by the technician.
After hot chemotherapy, the patients usually stay in the intensive care for one or two days. A hospitalization period of 14 to 21 days is expected in international standards. In Turkey it may take a shorter time for patients to be discharged. The patients can stay in a hotel for another week following the treatment and return to their countries after the last check of the surgeon.
The surgeon should see the patients once a month and recommend them to continue their treatment in Turkey. A port is placed to the abdomen of some patients and the medication is administered. This procedure cannot be administered successfully except in Japan and Germany.
Each country has at least one hot chemotherapy center. Germany, Japan, France, England and Italy are the leading countries.
The most expensive country is the United States. General health insurance covers the procedure in Europe. In Turkey, it is covered only by private health insurance.
